LUDOMIX: “London's leading lights of contemporary Rai… rock 'n' rai funksters Ludomix” Time Out “Ludomix; phenomenal heretics mixing Rai with funk, latin & rocking guitars.” Voodoo Flamenco “Ludomix, are the new kids on the London Rai block, and they will rock your world…” Gerry Lyseight (DJ BBC London Radio) In summer 2004 they secured a fortnightly residency at The Mint Bar and the sound of Ludomix was in the air. In 2005 following the demise of the Mint Bar Ludomix began to appear regularly at the Darbucka Club and following some memorable nights there, the band were asked to play at London's Rise Festival and the Off the Tracks festival at Donington park, sharing the bill with Oojami and Hawkwind. Packing a phenomenal punch at their energetic live shows Ludomix have headlined several of London’s top venues including Spitz, Notting Hill Arts Club, The Scala, Cargo and Momo. Also at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of fellow Rai artist Cheb Nacim’s band at the 2008 African Music Festival. Recently they impressed hugely at the Universal Studios Christmas bash. They have also performed at many summer festivals around London and UK including the capital’s biggest multicultural event The Rise Festival. Whilst playing occasional acoustic gigs, Ludomix are a full electric band, fit to perform on big festival stages. They have a powerful sound that encompasses Rai and North African sounds mixed with funky bass and guitars, and bubbling percussive Latin-African rhythms with charismatic new lead singer Simo’s stunning voice. Playing memorable original songs and updated Rai classics, Ludomix make uplifting and exciting music that audiences love to dance to. Ludomix are amazing. Go and see them. The lineup of the band is: Simo - vocal Madis Malgand - drums & percussion Kristiina Killo - Percussion Marcus Smith - guitar Ahmed Arfa - rhythm guitar & vocals |
